2. Leader of Group pack & Pack pack

Leader of Group pack/Pack pack will accompany you during every schedule except free time. They help you buy tickets, order food at restaurant. Leaders lead you to the entrance of historical site, but they don’t explain about it. Introducing about historical site is role of Indian local city tour guide.

Indian local city tour guide

City tour guides are India natives. They are well-trained experts in the tourist industry. Indian local city tour guides have strong points. They can tell you interesting stories vividly, because India is their living foundation. Also, they can deal with various problems that can happen to you during travel. Chingu tour leaders are international; Local, European, Japanese, Chinese, Korea, etc. They are registered as Expert in the tourist industry.

Main language is English. Also they can use their native language and Hindi.

The number of female clients tends to account for similar or higher percentage than that of male clients. You can meet good people.

DO NOT hang around alone late at night. DO NOT follow stranger. Be careful dark and isolated place. If you keep these basic rules, you don't need to worry about safety during travel.

Chingu Tour doesn't get deposit, rather we prefer to make Step1 Potential booking so that give you time to be sure about travel with us. You don't need to do same process two times, paying deposit, and then paying remaining cost.

After your payment is checked, departure will be confirmed. We will email you within 24 hours to confirm that your departure has been checked.

If you have cash card which can be used at overseas ATMs, you can take cash at India local ATMs. Please be sure that your cash card is international. You can check it at the bank near you.

Chingu Tour team moves directly to hotel or guest house right after arriving at a certain city. We leave backpack at accommodation. While you stay in one city, you can carry just a small bag which contains practical stuffs; wallet, passport, cellphone, camera. So there isn't much time to carry your backpack for long distance.

Condition of roads in India is not good to drag a suitcase. If wheel of suitcase is broken down, it can be much heavier burden. Preparing backpack is better than always being careful of sewage and garbage on the road not to make your suitcase dirty.

Free pack/Pack pack use tourist class hotel. Group pack uses guest house. Hotel/guest house are clean and safe. Chingu tour have contract for good rooms at lower price. We usually use accommodations listed on website, but they can be changed to other rooms of the same level according to local condition.

You don't need to pay single charge. 1 room for 2 people is basic condition for every joiner. Leader will help you to share room with one of our team members.

Departure is confirmed when the minimum number of people joins to the tour service. If departure is canceled because of lack of applicant, you can choose another tour service or change the date of departure.

Yes, you can. Many travelers have joined the team at local. Please let us know your flight schedule. Then we will be able to inform you what to do.

Travel schedule for next season is updated after peak season. Available departure dates are noticed 2~3 months before the season starts. If there are not dates available for you to book, please email me. Tour counsellor will accept requirement answer you delicately.

There are fixed schedule between cities, because Free/Group/Pack pack are package tour service. Team Leader will proceed schedule as planned. So you cannot change which city you will visit next.

But you can modify traffic or hotel according to your own decision or by consensus with team. About detail modification you can decide after coordinating with Leader and team members.

Travelers usually ride local train when they move from city to city. Several people gather and make a group for one couchette.

Team Leader will tell you precautions about night train. If you observe them well, everything will be good.

Yes, you can. If you want to use SIM card for using 3G Data and cutting down roaming charges, please ask to team leader at local. Leader will help you find shop for SIM card.

Required documents are different by country; copy of passport, picture, and charge for opening, etc. Please check exactly what is needed for you to open SIM card through internet searching.

Leader/Guide never get tips from clients in any case. It is one of important factors of contraction between Leader/Guide and Chingu tour agency. They are expert. Chingu tour agency bears enough local expenses, traffic, event, meals, etc, for Leader/Guide. So clients should not bear all or part of expenses of them in any condition. If one of Leader/Guide ask you tip, please notice us. Agency will not keep contraction with them. This is strict rule of Chingu tour agency.

Final decision about leader is confirmed on the very departure day, because of various conditions. Teams are frequently confirmed and cancelled, so also leader can be changed according to situation. Agency cannot tell you exactly before the day of departure.

Departure is absolutely determined with minimum 3 people. With less than 3 people, however, departure can be confirmed with additional fee. If you really wish to travel with a certain service, sure you can enjoy it. In this season also, many teams depart with only one joiner or two. Many clients wish to depart alone.

[Cheklist for backpack]

1. Backpack, small bag, small sack

   Big backpack is used when you move from one city to the other. Right after you arrive at one city, you can put it in the hotel room. During tour, you can carry a small bag that contain camera, pocket notebook, and guide book, etc. Please refer to the list How to pack backpack above. You will find that surprisingly small backpack is enough for travel! Please prepare the items at first and then choose bag later. If you need big bag for souvenir from India, you can buy one at local. There are many nice products which are not only cheap but also attractive with special atmosphere of India.

   Small sack is useful item. You can put important stuffs, for instance passport, flight ticket, $, etc.

   * Notice Suitcase is very uncomfortable to use in India. Backpack is much better than suitcase during travel. Sure, you can drag suitcase, but it will be really annoying. And no one can bear it instead of you.

2. The lock and Chain

   The lock and chain are needed when you fix backpack on bed in night train. Because there can be thieves in thenight train, you should connect your bag and the side of bed with chain, and lock it.

   * You can buy a chain in train station at local. Price is low and quality is good.
   * Please prepare two locks set by numbers, not by key. To protect your luggage from thieves during movement, they are essential items.

3. Sleeping bag

   Sleeping bag is essential item for backpacker. You need it even in the hot desert. Please prepare light sleeping bag for summer, from February to October, and warm sleeping bag for winter, from November to January.

4. Dress

   From November to January, considering cold weather at night, you need warm coat for winter. During other seasons, 2 cotton pants, 2 long sleeve T-shirts, 2 short sleeve T-shirts are enough. You don't need to take extra clothes excessively. It is better to buy Indian costumes and wear during travel. Indian costumes occupy less space and dry fast. And they are unique and comfortable. In addition, you can feel market place lively during shopping. You will enjoy it!

5. Shoes

   Sport sandals are much more comfortable than any other kinds of shoes. You can buy sport sandals at local. It costs around 3.4 Euro. Crocs are also good choice.

   If you feel uncomfortable about sandals, or if your feet are sensitive to cold weather, sneakers are good choice. In hotel, however, there are not slippers for bathroom. So if you need shoes during taking a shower, please take slippers. If you don't mind, you don't need to wear shoes in bathroom, because it is clean.

   Please don't get on high-heal shoes.

6. Small Flash lamp

   The lighting is poor in the evening. You can meet blackout on the street at night. We will go out to watch movie and to ride boat at night. We will explore dark cave. Flash lamp is very useful in these various situations. Small light can be small happiness also at night train.

7. Camera

   Camera with flash and telephoto lens is good for taking pictures of old structure and happy moment in India. You can use 220V for charging.

8. Food

   MacGyver knife is useful for fruit. You don't need tableware tools at all. India restaurant also provide them.

   Cheeze can be emergency food when you miss European food. There are European restaurants at local.

9. Toiletry

   Please prepare according to your washing habits. At local, you can get shampoo, soup for body, toothbrush, laundry. Also, you can buy toilet paper in pieces at Indian stores.

10. Book

    Guide book can helpful when you get information about historical site before you visit. An interesting book can relieve boredom when you move long distance. Diary is good way to keep your memory.

11. Medicine

    Comprehensive cold medicine, laxatives are necessary. Indian food is different from food you usually eat, so you may experience diarrhea or constipation. Also, you should prepare against cold because there are considerable difference of temperature between morning and evening. Of course, you can get medicine at local.

12. Extra stuff, gift

    Preparing several gifts for Indian is nice idea. During travel, in unfamiliar land, you will face spectacular situation and get help from local people. Or you can meet good friend. At the moment, giving a small gift will be good way to remember impressive memory.

    But please be careful not to make your bag heavy because of gifts!

    * P.S. Please pack all these stuffs within one backpack. You should carry your own luggage by yourself.

Main language of India is Hindi and English. Sure, you can communicate in English in every city you will visit. Basic level of conversation is enough to enjoy travel.

• July - September

It is rainy season of India called Monsoon. It rains 3-4 times a day briefly. So if you prepare raincoat, you will not face serious discomfort during travel.

You will usually take SL (Sleeper Train) or 3AC (Sleeper train with 3rd class air conditioner) which is the most popular class for backpackers. Class can be changed by condition of empty seat.

It can be different by personal expenditure pattern. Generally, 15$~20$ is expected per day. It is used for entrance fee of historic sites, transportation inside city, and meals.

You can use local hospital in India. Team leader will help you.
